Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Irvine, CA, is seeking a 2nd shift Quality Control Supervisor / Quality Engineer to lead quality activities on our second shift within a precision metal machining facility serving the aerospace industry.

You will supervise quality inspectors, support production operations, ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost yield and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must have Aerospace industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality supervision, or manufacturing quality assurance.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an aerospace or precision machining environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality methodologies including SPC and risk-based quality.
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement equipment and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience performing root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision for second-shift Quality Inspectors and personnel.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Manage daily quality priorities to support production and shipping requirements.
• Coach, mentor, and develop inspection staff through training and performance management.
• Conduct shift handoffs and communicate quality concerns to first-shift leadership.
• Ensure personnel follow documented procedures, inspection plans, and customer requirements.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with machinists, manufacturing engineers, and operations to resolve issues.
• Lead SPC monitoring and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
