Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Middletown, CT is seeking a Production Machinist for 3rd shift. You will set up and operate machine tools to produce precision turbine engine parts, following drawings and specifications.

The role includes deburring, assembly, surface finishing, and programming or reading OpCert records as needed. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with machining experience and 1–3 years in a machining environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 6 months of machining experience.
• 1-3 years of machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate one machine tool or process equipment type and run multiple unrelated tools in an assigned area to produce precision turbine engine parts.
• Perform bench, assembly and surface finishing operations such as deburring, blending, trimming and fitting; drill, rivet and bond details to assemble finished parts.
• Use various media for cleaning or surface conditioning and operate finishing equipment such as tumbling, grit blast, shot peen, buffing and polishing machines.
• Utilize fixed or variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and operate computer-based systems to retrieve and store information.
• May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within the area.
