Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT, is seeking an experienced aerospace mechanic for 2nd shift. You will follow assembly drawings to build engine subassemblies, support test operations, and perform overhauls in a high-precision environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with A&P training or related certification, plus 5+ years of heavy automotive or aerospace experience. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits and shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and formal training in a specialized field achieving A&P license or equivalent OR 4 years of technical high school including technical post high school certification and 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow assembly drawings/specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines; assist with engine test operations and component tests.
• Overhaul and repair engines, modules and related components per procedures and specs.
• Obtain parts, check conformance to assembly requirements and measure components to ensure proper fit and dimensional limits.
• Use hand tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment to build engine sections and install details; maintain tooling for assigned areas.
• Provide support for test operations and assist with testing under supervision and schedules.
• Assist with co-producer, customer support or retrofit projects and adapt to new engine programs and specification changes.

Skills

5+ years heavy automotive experience
