Job summary

Newrez is seeking a 2nd Lien Loan Consultant to manage initial collections on delinquent portfolios and steer them toward workable resolutions. You will review borrower information, set up payment plans, and assess modifications or settlements while ensuring compliance with FDCPA and internal policies.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in collections/loss mitigation, strong negotiation and communication skills, and familiarity with LMS/DA tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• 2-4 years’ experience within collections and loss mitigation.
• Familiarity with FDCPA and debt collection practices.
• Ability to analyze income and documents to determine feasible solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review delinquent 2nd lien accounts and initiate contact with borrowers.
• Propose workout strategies, including modifications and payment plans.
• Assess legal options when needed and ensure FDCPA compliance.
• Coordinate with appraisers, inspectors, and real estate agents as required.
• Maintain accurate records of activity and communications for each file.
• Work overtime as needed and obtain Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license.
