2nd / 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic (Finance)
Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, fixtures, and building repairs in the distribution center. This includes maintaining and repairing all lift trucks and mobile equipment. Desired Previous Job Experience:
- High school education or GED
- 2+ years experience in plumbing, blueprint reading, general building maintenance, hydraulic and electrical work
- 4 years in forklift repair or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry, and apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to interpret instructions in various formats (written, oral, diagram, schedule)
- Availability to work weekends, nights, overtime, and holidays regularly
- Familiarity with industry/technical and distribution center terms and processes
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work with urgency and meet deadlines
- Willingness to pursue ongoing education as necessary
- Ability to operate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, power lift equipment
- Valid driver's license required
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain and repair carts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, stock pickers, turret trucks, sweepers, scrubbers, and forklift attachments
- Repair and maintain batteries, chargers, and other equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on lift trucks
- Assist with monitoring equipment parameters and perform predictive/preventive maintenance, entering data into CMMS
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies
- Operate diagnostic equipment and computers for maintenance diagnostics
- Diagnose failures, determine parts requirements, and perform repairs to resume production
- Communicate effectively with peers
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facilities
- Repair hydraulic systems, air compressors, fire systems
- Weld, cut, and repair aluminum and steel structures
- Maintain building systems including electrical and plumbing
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
