Job summary

UPS is seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining delivery vehicles, tractors and trailers with diesel, gasoline and alternative propulsion.

You will troubleshoot hydraulic brakes, electrical systems and engine controls while meeting DOT requirements and safety standards. The position is permanent, with potential for varying shifts (9pm-5:30am in some locations) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
• Class A/B CDL - Preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year.
• Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis.
• Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to chemicals and noise.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements as per job assignment.
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely in a fleet maintenance setting.
• Utilize standard and power tools to service and repair vehicles.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
