Job summary

UPS is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. You will service a diverse range of vehicles and powertrains, including diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuels, and troubleshoot hydraulic brakes, electrical, and engine control systems.

Position requires willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, with variable schedules (Mon-Fri, Sun-Thu, or Tue-Sat depending on location). Must be dependable and able to report regularly for long shifts in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
• Class A/B CDL - preferred.
• Travel is required.
• Works full-time 8–10 hours/day, 4–5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements as required by the job assignment.
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently.
• Sits infrequently, as required.
• Exercises hand grasping and manipulation to complete tasks.
• Operates standard and manual transmission.
• Operates power and pneumatic tools.
