Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston is seeking a Direct Care staff member to oversee the 24‑hour program operations and maintain a safe, supportive living environment for families in residence. You will greet visitors, respond to emergencies, and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Essential duties include documenting incidents and logs, enforcing house rules, performing building checks, and supporting residents with daily activities, cooking, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent with 3‑4 years prior experience in social services or related field preferred.
• CPR certified for emergency situations.
• Must participate in training for re‑certification to maintain current certification.
• Must understand and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a varied client population.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the mission and professional standards of Catholic Charities Boston and maintain confidentiality.
• Interact respectfully with visitors, residents, and staff.
• Complete documentation, incident and daily logs clearly and promptly.
• Follow program policies and report issues to supervisor on duty.
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and safety checks.
• Ensure a clean, safe living and work environment and assist with house chores.
