Job summary

New York Life Insurance Co. operates a 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to monitor external events and physical-security systems, providing timely incident notifications and briefings to stakeholders.

The GSOC serves as the primary contact for security events and supports crisis-management with internal security partners. Role responsibilities include monitoring alarms, coordinating site response, and documenting actions in the case management system, while ensuring confidentiality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, intelligence studies, emergency management, homeland security, or equivalent
• 0–3 years of experience in security operations, emergency communications or dispatch, intelligence, or related 24/7 monitoring environment
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to synthesize information quickly
• Ability to assess incomplete information, exercise good judgment, and work in fast-paced settings
• Familiarity with incident-management frameworks, case-management tools, and security systems
• Familiarity with OSINT techniques and threat monitoring

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze alerts from intelligence sources to identify events affecting employees, facilities or operations
• Prepare and disseminate incident notifications and briefings to stakeholders
• Monitor video surveillance, access-control, intrusion-detection and other security systems
• Assess security incidents, coordinate site response, and escalate as needed
• Serve as primary intake point for emergency and non-emergency calls involving safety and operations
• Support crisis-management by coordinating escalations and updates
• Document incidents and actions in the case management system and ensure turnover communications
