Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a dedicated Hospital Communications Associate to provide 24/7 operator services across multiple call centers. You will handle incoming calls, paging, and urgent Life Safety communications with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities include processing code calls, maintaining on-call schedules, updating paging databases, and delivering reliable, courteous service to physicians, staff, patients, and visitors in a high-pressure health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using computers in an office environment.
• Experience answering phones in a high-volume environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes Emergency Life Safety Codes.
• Answers code line on first ring.
• Pages appropriate personnel per policy with no exceptions.
• Completes code procedure within 30 seconds.
• Documents codes as instructed.
• Answer and accurately process calls (60-80 per hour, 95-100% accuracy).
• Demonstrates professional customer relations on the phone.
• Manages hospital pagers and on-call schedules.
