Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an Operator Services Associate to act as the 24x7 communications hub between physicians, hospital personnel, patients and visitors. The role involves handling calls, paging, processing Emergency Life Safety codes, and coordinating with on-call staff across YNHHS locations.

The ideal candidate will type at least 35 WPM, work well in teams and independently, and demonstrate excellent customer service and decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience using computers in an office environment.
• Experience answering telephones in a high call volume environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Cisco and Spok software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes Emergency Life Safety Codes.
• Answers code line on first ring and pages appropriate personnel.
• Answers and processes calls with speed and accuracy.
• Maintains courteous customer relations and professional conduct.
• Manages pager exchanges and on-call schedules across locations.
