Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY seeks a full-time Telephone Operator to answer the hospital's main lines, route calls to emergency and patient information, and deliver accurate information while upholding privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include maintaining on-call schedules, logging events in Excel, using Vocera and paging systems for life-safety codes, and upholding professional standards.

Formación

• HS Graduate or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6 months' switchboard, direct customer service or guest services position.
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Answers main number and patient information calls in a timely fashion, exhibiting strong customer service skill resulting in service excellence for the caller.
• Implements code protocols accurately as written in the department Policy and Procedure Manual; handles emergencies with proper activation procedures using Vocera, phone and paging systems.
• Monitors all emergency devices and alarm systems and notifies appropriate personnel when activated; documents incident reports and logs.
• Maintains up-to-date databases and on-call schedules to provide accurate information quickly.
• Demonstrates courteous and friendly manner while adhering to hospital policies on professionalism and respect.
• Documents and maintains code logs in Excel spreadsheets.
• Participates in establishing and achieving department goals.
• Shows willingness to assist coworkers and take on additional tasks to improve efficiency.
• Establishes and maintains productive relationships with supervisors, coworkers and customers.
• Maintains and models Northwell Health values.
• Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
