Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; 1–2 years of customer service experience.
• Dispatcher experience preferred; knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer and process all incoming calls for patients, staff, physicians and the public.
• Use department computers to obtain information and maintain databases; provide accurate information.
• Conduct paging for emergencies, codes, and events; make public address announcements as needed.
• Monitor alarm systems and respond to signals; alert required personnel per policy.
• Resolve routine customer concerns; escalate critical issues to the Department Manager.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality of patient, physician, and employee information.
• Report phone trouble to Communications Center Manager and Telecommunications Analyst.
• Maintain professional communication etiquette and a positive tone at all times.
