Job summary

The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) seeks a Scheduler to ensure 24/7 staffing across 11 group homes. You will coordinate shifts, manage leave, respond to emergencies, and oversee coverage using scheduling software and reports.

This is a 100% in-person role at Grand Junction and requires adaptability to rotating shifts. You will supervise up to 15 Health Care Technicians, maintain compliance with state regulations, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support residents

Qualifications

• Must have QMAP training or hold a valid LPT license
• Substitutions: Additional appropriate education may substitute for required experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Dependable, adaptable, and responsible

Responsibilities

• Independently schedule and coordinate staff assignments to meet state-regulated staffing ratios and resident needs
• Review, approve, or deny leave requests based on staffing levels and impact
• Respond quickly to staff call-offs, absences, and emergencies by providing coverage
• Maintain scheduling using scheduling software (e.g., When2Work), spreadsheets, and internal systems
• Provide on-the-ground direct care coverage when no other solution is available
• Serve as the command center during crises, coordinating emergency response and notifications
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and external services for crisis management
• Compile attendance records, duty status reports, and shift documentation
• Operate office technologies and manage high-volume communications
• Participate in training and team meetings for direct care staff
• Coach and direct up to 15 Health Care Technicians with guidance and documentation support
• Safely operate agency vehicles and support transport logistics
• Uphold agency procedures and assist with administrative projects

Education

High school diploma or GED

Two years of related experience

QMAP training or LPT license
