Job summary

Ingham County Sheriff's Office is seeking a 9-1-1 Temporary Employee to answer emergency and non-emergency calls, determine location and priority, and coordinate with units using CAD and radios. The role supports a 24/7 operation with shifts up to 12 hours and up to 30 hours per week.

Experience in high-volume call centers or dispatch is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. The position is projected for 12 months with potential extension.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in high-volume call handling or emergency dispatch preferred.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 schedule with up to 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Provide pre-arrival medical instructions when needed.
• Coordinate with emergency units using CAD, radios, and MDTs.
• Enter data accurately and retrieve local public safety information.
• Dispatch units as required and monitor radio talk groups.
• Work up to 12-hour shifts for a 24/7 operation.
