Job summary

Jefferson-County Communications Center Authority is seeking an Emergency Communications Specialist to operate CAD, monitor multi-channel radio, and handle 911 calls in a 24/7 dispatch center. You will provide pre-arrival instructions and dispatch police, medical, and fire resources as needed.

The role requires high school graduation, certifications in EMD/CPR/EFD, and the ability to pass a CCIC/NCIC background check within six months. Overtime may be required to ensure round-the-clock coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EMD, CPR, EFD, and NCIC/CCIC certifications must be pursued/maintained within six months.
• Ability to obtain CCIC/NCIC background check within six months.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process 911, emergency, and non-emergency calls for multiple agencies.
• Dispatch police, medical, or fire units accurately and promptly.
• Provide pre-arrival instruction using IAED protocols.
• Maintain logs and records of communications.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional communication within a 24/7 center.
