Job summary

The City of Hayward is seeking a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor for its 24/7 emergency communications center. You will supervise dispatch personnel, coordinate shift operations, and make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring leadership, accountability, and strong communication skills, with experience in training, performance evaluation, and policy development. POST course completion is highly desirable and the role includes day/night shifts, weekends, and

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of responsible emergency dispatching experience.
• Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent.
• POST Dispatcher course within one year is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch units as needed.
• Use CAD and RMS to enter and track calls and information.
• Supervise shift operations and assign personnel.
• Develop policies, procedures and training for the Communications Center.
• Maintain 24-hour logs and testify in court when required.
