Job summary

Donor Network of Arizona is seeking a Donor Support Coordinator for a 24/7 call center environment with 12-hour shifts. You must be flexible to work days or nights, including weekends and holidays, to support tissue donation from referral through recovery.

You will screen medical histories, evaluate donation suitability, and coordinate with families and hospital staff, documenting details and guiding conversations with empathy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–2 years related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills; typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
• Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to handle emotionally charged conversations professionally.
• Experience with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
• Experience in conflict resolution in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage incoming donor referral calls in a 24/7 setting.
• Screen patient medical/social history with hospital staff and other professionals.
• Evaluate donation suitability using policies and medical criteria.
• Communicate with next of kin about donation opportunities after loss.
• Guide families through sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
• Obtain and verify legal authorization for donation.
• Coordinate and dispatch technician teams.
• Document detailed medical and social history information promptly.
• Maintain compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the donation process.
