Job summary

Amazon in Oregon (GovCloud region) is seeking a Data Center Technician to maintain the heartbeat of our platform in a 24/7 environment. You will perform server rack installations, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and respond to incidents to keep services available for customers worldwide.

This role requires travel to data centers, willingness to work nights and weekends, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
1+ years of computer networking experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

Perform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components.
Troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability.
Escalate complex incidents to senior technicians and management as needed.
Serve as the primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, developers, vendors, and contractors.
Participate in on‑call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
Help train and onboard new team members.
