Job summary

Samaritans, Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Helpline Coordinator to ensure 24/7 coverage on the Helpline by responding to calls during your shift, providing emotional support via befriending, and helping fulfill the organization's mission for those isolated and in distress.

You will document reports, participate in meetings, and contribute to a compassionate, confidential, non-judgmental listening environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of professional experience preferred.
• Volunteer experience preferred.
• Knowledge of suicide prevention preferred.
• Experience on a crisis helpline is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take crisis calls and provide emotional support to at-risk individuals.
• Submit call reports after each call.
• Attend staff meetings and supervision.
• Ensure 24/7 Helpline coverage during assigned shifts.
