Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is offering a Software Engineering co-op/intern position in the San Jose/Santa Clara area.

You will work full time (40 hours weekly) in a hybrid or onsite setting during the term, contributing to real projects that impact millions of end users. You will gain hands-on experience alongside AMD engineers, receive training across the software development lifecycle, and build automation scripts while learning debugging methods and documenting technical work as

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a US university for a Master's in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Knowledge of software engineering concepts and best practices.
• Experience with C/C++ and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Java).
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and cloud platforms (Azure).
• Exposure to web frameworks (Django/Rails/Spring Boot), HTML/XML/XSL, Git workflows, and security basics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers to build and maintain applications.
• Receive training across the software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Develop scripts to automate parts of the development process.
• Learn debugging methodologies to identify root causes of issues.
• Draft technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term

WhatYouWillBeDoing

We areseekinghighlymotivated Software Engineering co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role -

• We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build andmaintain our software applications.
• We willprovide training on the full software creation process, from design andbuiltto testing and deployment.
• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports asneeded.

Who We Are Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Master's degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• If you haveknowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply -
