Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering co-op/intern to join our team. You will work closely with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications, while receiving training across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.

You will learn debugging methodologies, develop scripts to automate development tasks, and contribute to technical documents. This role requires currently pursuing a US-based Master’s degree in Computer Engineering,

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a US-based university pursuing a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and debugging practices.
  • Willingness to work 40 hours weekly in hybrid or onsite settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications.
  • Receive training across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
  • Create scripts to automate parts of the software development process.
  • Learn debugging methodologies to identify root causes of software issues.
  • Contribute to technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

  • Locations: Austin, TX, Boxborough, MA, Fort Collins, CO, Longmont, CO, Fishkill, NY, Rochester, NY
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term
Duration
  • Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Summer Internship:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027
  • Summer/Fall Co-op:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - December 10, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - December 10, 2027
What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineering co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role -

  • We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications.
  • We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment.
  • We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
  • We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
  • In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply -
