Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) offers an internship/co-op in Santa Clara/San Jose, CA, for driven graduate students pursuing a Master’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. You will work full-time, in a hybrid or onsite setting, contributing to software projects and gaining hands-on experience across the development lifecycle.

You’ll learn debugging, automation scripting, and documentation practices while collaborating with experienced engineers on real-world AMD

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a US-based university for a Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Strong interest in software development across full stack and embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and at least one scripting language.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications.
  • Receive training across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
  • Create scripts to automate software development tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Learn debugging methodologies to diagnose root causes of issues.
  • Contribute to technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

Job Details:
  • Locations: San Jose, CA or Santa Clara, CA
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term

  • Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Summer Internship:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027

WhatYouWillBeDoing

We areseekinghighlymotivated Software Engineering co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role –

  • We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build andmaintain our software applications.
  • We willprovide training on the full software creation process, from design andbuiltto testing and deployment.
  • We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
  • We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
  • In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports asneeded.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
