Job summary

AMD is offering a Software Engineering co‑op/intern role at its San Jose/Santa Clara campus. You will work full time (40 hours a week) in a hybrid or onsite structure and contribute to building and maintaining software applications while receiving training across the full development lifecycle.

Eligible students are enrolled in US universities pursuing undergraduate degrees in CS/CE/EE, with hands-on experience in C/C++, scripting, Linux, databases, and cloud platforms like Azure.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university pursuing an undergrad degree in CS/CE/EE.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++ and scripting languages.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux and debugging.
• Familiar with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and cloud platforms (Azure).
• Willing to learn and contribute across the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Assist software engineers to build and maintain applications.
• Receive training across the full software creation process.
• Develop scripts to automate parts of the development workflow.
• Learn debugging methods and root-cause analysis.
• Possibly contribute to technical/functional documents.

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineering co‑op to join our team at AMD. In this role –

• We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications.
• We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment.
• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

Who We Are Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Undergrad degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
