Job summary

UFP Industries in Moneta, VA is seeking a General Labor to safely handle lumber products, verify materials meet customer requirements, and support production teams.

You will move, stack, label, and tag lumber, operate basic equipment like a staple gun, and help keep the work area clean and organized while following safety rules.

No formal experience is required, but a high school diploma is preferred; forklift exposure is a plus; you must be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products to predetermined bundle sizes and customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $17.00- $19.00 hourly dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living Bonus/Incentive Pay (appropriate item below would be inserted based on the job):

• For sales positions: The percentage of incentive compensation that may be earned varies based on the customer account classification and is calculated based on collected gross profit.
• For salaried bonus positions: Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
• For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, and trip rate bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
