Job summary

Canfor is seeking a Millwright for our Camden, SC sawmill to help keep production equipment running at peak performance. You will be part of a high-performance team maintaining pumps, conveyors, compressors and mechanical systems, including hydraulic/pneumatic components.

Responsibilities include preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and implementing safe fixes to maximize uptime. Strong teamwork and urgency are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot machinery components.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery.
• Experience using a CMMS to schedule and document maintenance activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team with operations, production staff and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance and inspect equipment to detect irregularities.
• Troubleshoot issues, improve equipment reliability and implement safe, reliable fixes to maximize uptime.
• Identify and request parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Support a safe work environment.
