Job summary

Canfor Southern Pine in Camden, SC is seeking a skilled Millwright to keep our sawmill machinery running efficiently on a 2nd shift with a rotating schedule. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pumps, conveyors, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other mechanical equipment critical to production.

The role emphasizes preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance, accurate parts requests, and following safe work practices while collaborating with maintenance, operations, production

Qualifications

• Superior troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery components.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule and document maintenance activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborating with other maintenance professionals, operations, production staff, and supervisors.
• A high degree of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance; inspect equipment to detect irregularities.
• Troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes to maximize uptime.
• Identify parts needed for repairs and request them promptly.
• Promote a safe work environment and follow safety protocols.
