Job summary

Canfor is seeking a Millwright for our Moultrie, GA sawmill to maintain and repair industrial equipment on a 2nd shift with a rotating schedule that may include weekends. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and repair pumps, conveyors, hydraulic/pneumatic components, and related machinery to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in manufacturing, basic electrical knowledge, CMMS proficiency, and a strong sense of urgency to ensure uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Superior troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred; lumber manufacturing knowledge a plus.
• Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery components.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery.
• Experience using a CMMS to schedule and document maintenance activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team with maintenance, operations, production staff and supervisors.
• High degree of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance; inspect machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes to maximize uptime.
• Identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe work environment and support safety initiatives.
