Central Plains Steel in Wichita, KS is hiring a 1st Shift Material Handler to move metal using overhead cranes, forklifts, and related equipment in the warehouse. You will collaborate with shipping, receiving, and machine operators to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and stamina to stand for long periods. On-the-job training and safety protocols are provided in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license and ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Basic math, measurement, and reading comprehension required.

Responsibilities

• Move metal with overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Support warehouse operations with shipping/receiving and machine operators.
• Perform basic quality checks and documentation.
• Tag and package parts; complete work order paperwork.
• Operate yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
