Central Plains Steel in Wichita, KS is hiring for a Full Time position on 1st Shift (6:30am–3:00pm). Responsibilities include pulling/assembling orders, material handling, and quality checks. The role requires basic math, reading skills, and the ability to lift heavy weights.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must meet Level 4 (Heavy Work) capacity.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Adequate manual dexterity and coordination.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Basic measurement and math skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time.
• Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally; 60 pounds repetitively.
• Stand for sustained periods.
• Must obtain motorized equipment certification.
• Warehousing experience preferred.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pulls and assembles orders based on shipping orders or other documentation.
• Coordinates and executes material handling.
• Performs quality control inspections.
• Sorts and packages parts as directed.
• Tags material for proper identification and complete all required documentation.
• Operates yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane for loading/unloading trailers.
• Spot checks on inventory and tagging of material as directed.
• Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
