Job summary

Central Plains Steel in Wichita, KS is seeking a 1st Shift Parts Breakdown professional. Shift is Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm at Plant 2, 8909 E. 35th St.

N., Suite 300. Responsibilities include removing cut parts, verifying quality, and preparing items for shipping while collaborating with machine operators and shipping to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals. Requirements include 0–5 years of relevant experience, valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and a readiness for

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet or exceed Level 4 Heavy Work capacity.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively.
• Basic measurement and math skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic, routine tasks with clear instructions.
• Follow work orders and tooling instructions precisely.
• Coordinate material handling and shipping readiness.
• Perform quality inspections of parts.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Operate forklift, yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane as needed.
• Tag materials and document movements as required.
• Report irregularities to supervisor.
