Job summary

Tyson Foods in River Valley Ingredients, Cuthbert, GA, is seeking a Maintenance Generalist for 1st shift to support plant operations. The role involves general maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment support across the facility, with a focus on safety, quality, and adherence to Tyson policies.

You will use basic tools and skills in welding, hydraulics, electricity, and plumbing, reading manuals and schematics, and communicating effectively with the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand maintenance manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work throughout the plant following Tyson policies and safety expectations.
• Use basic hand tools, electrical tools, pneumatic power tools, and equipment to complete tasks.
• Apply mechanical and maintenance skills including welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, and hydraulics and plumbing.
• Read maintenance manuals, drawings, and schematics related to hydraulic and basic electrical systems.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; respond to two-way radio communications.
• Operate gas or hydraulic equipment and lifts when certified.
• Monitor boilers and perform boiler chemical testing when assigned.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, and work in varying conditions.
• Participate in outside training and vendor training to develop skills.
