Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Maintenance Generalist to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems in our Kentucky plant. The role emphasizes minimizing downtime, ensuring food safety, and upholding Tyson's safety culture.

The successful candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, read schematics, and assist with installations and upgrades, while maintaining accurate records and working safely with tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Maintains safety culture and compliance with Tyson policies.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
• Repairs motors, pumps, bearings, shafts, conveyors, augers, and lines.
• Performs welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor electrical repairs.
• Reads manuals, drawings, and schematics to troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote Tyson's safety culture.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
• Repair and replace motors, pumps, bearings, shafts, conveyors, augers, couplings; upgrade lines.
• Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and related equipment safely.
• Support emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
