Job summary

Hoffer Plastics is seeking a Custodian for the 1st shift (6:00am – 2:00pm) in South Elgin, IL. The role focuses on cleaning and maintaining the facility, including washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, floors and common areas. Some light equipment and general maintenance tasks may be required.

Qualifications

• English reading skills to comprehend labels and instructions.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Clean/sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms and office areas.
• Remove snow and salt parking lots and sidewalks.
• May operate a compactor/baler as assigned.
• Pick up, sort and weigh scrap.
• Service air filters and perform general building maintenance.
• Clean windows, fixtures and floors; perform yard work as needed.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and assist with continuous improvement.
• Adhere to safety regulations and keep work areas clean.
