Job summary

Hoffer Plastics Corporation is seeking a Custodian for the 1st shift (6:00am - 2:00pm) in South Elgin, IL. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the facility to support daily manufacturing operations.

Starting pay ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour with full training and a range of benefits. Prior experience with cleaning, safety procedures, and basic tools is helpful, with opportunities for growth within the company.

• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean/sanitize washrooms, lunch areas and offices.
• Remove snow and salt parking lots and sidewalks.
• May operate a compactor/baler as assigned.
• Sort and weigh scrap.
• Service air filters as needed.
• Perform general building projects/repairs with tools.
• Clean windows and fixtures, strip/wax or buff floors.
• Perform yard work such as planting and weeding.
• Use equipment like snow blowers, buffers, scrubbers, or a sky jack.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and comply with safety regulations.

Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the facility.

Starting Pay $19.00 - $21.00

1st Shift Hours are 6:00am - 2:00pm

Responsibilities

• Clean/sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, office areas.
• Remove snow and salt parking lots and sidewalks.
• May operate compactor/baler as assigned.
• Pick up, sort and weigh scrap.
• Service air filters as needed.
• Knowledge of tools and painting wanted but not needed. Various projects/repairs around the building.
• Clean windows and fixtures, strip/wax or buff floors.
• Perform yard work such as planting and weeding
• Use equipment such as snow blowers, buffers, scrubbers, or sky jack.
• All team members shall:

  • Continue to grow job specific knowledge and use tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
  • Comply with safety regulations, safety equipment, and maintain clean and orderly work areas

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• always walk/stand the entire shift.
• sometimes bend at waist, twist/turn, kneel/crouch, push, pull and climb (using ladders).
• occasionally lift below waist up to 75lbs.
• regularly lift above waist between 10lbs and 75lbs.
• seldom lift above shoulders up to 75lbs.
• frequently perform hand/ wrist /finger movement and squeezing.
• occasionally use keyboard and foot for pedal controls on forklift.
• ability to work indoor/outdoor year-round.
• regular exposure to odors, dust and seasonal weather conditions.

Qualifications

• English skills that allow for reading and comprehending labels/instructions.
• Experience with power and hand tools is a plus.
