Universal Instruments in Rochester, NY is seeking a 1st shift assembler to join a clean, climate-controlled, self-paced work environment.

You will assemble basic parts, use hand tools, and may perform intermediate testing of sub-assemblies. The role supports process improvements and collaborative daily team activities, with emphasis on reliability and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relative experience.
• Experience with tools such as Allen wrenches, ratchet wrenches, measuring tools, torque wrenches, scales, meters, and gauges.
• Notable experience working with technical drawings, blueprints and/or schematics.
• Experience performing standard operating procedures.
• Technical aptitude for database navigation, information management and record keeping.
• Reads, writes and communicates effectively via email, documentation and with colleagues.
• Dependable and possesses an excellent work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts according to assembly procedures, process sheets, and/or other relevant documentation.
• Utilize hand tools including screwdrivers, torque drivers and assembly aids.
• May perform intermediate level testing of sub-assemblies prior to final assembly.
• Suggests engineering or process changes as required.
• Assists in creating/revising the build process.
• May assist in leading daily team activities.
• Performs other duties as required.
