Links at Perry Cabin is seeking a 1st Assistant Superintendent to oversee golf course maintenance, budgeting and staff supervision. The role focuses on delivering superior playing conditions for members and guests while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The candidate will plan and direct greens, tees, fairways, and bunker projects, manage purchases, and coordinate maintenance schedules and reports. Maryland licensing within 6 months is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 3–4 years related experience; degree preferred in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil science.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Ability to obtain a Maryland pesticide license within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Superintendent to ensure the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans are maintained and followed.
• Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties.
• Assists in planning, organizing and directing maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees and ornamental plants.
• Ensures construction equipment is properly maintained.
• Assists in procurement of supplies and materials and controls costs within budget.
• Keeps records of maintenance activities and prepares required reports.
• Follows purchasing procedures with preferred vendors.
• Reconciles and codes invoices, payroll and related documents.
• Coordinates snow removal as location requires.
• Ensures company policies and government regulations are followed.
• Ensures associates obtain required licenses and addresses environmental concerns.
• Manages department members such as Mechanics, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, Irrigation Technician.
• Provides orientation and training; develops ongoing training programs.
• Monitors forecasted volume and plans manpower, productivity, costs, and expenses.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees and ornamental plants.
• Ensures that construction equipment is properly maintained.
• Assists in the procurement of supplies and materials and ensures costs remain within budgetary limitations.
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assists with the preparation of required prepares reports.
• Follows sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors, when possible.
• Reconciles and provides timely coding of all invoices, payroll and other required documents.
• Coordinates snow removal (depending upon facility location).
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations.
• Ensures associates obtain proper license needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations. Addresses directly all real or perceived environmental concerns.
• Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
• Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
• Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
