Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor - MAP in Attleboro, MA to support adults in Group Living Environments. You will teach daily living skills, implement treatment plans, and supervise medications under clinician guidance.

The role requires MAP certification within 3 months, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication. This is a night shift position with 40 hours weekly and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• MAP certification required; BAMSI provides MAP training in the first 4 weeks.
• High school diploma or GED with mental health experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility.
• Strong English communication and basic computer skills.
• Compassion, patience and trauma-informed care mindset.
• Bonus: lived experience or multilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE).
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and social skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions with clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents' needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
