Job summary

BAMSI in Franklin, MA is hiring a Residential Counselor for MAP programs. You will provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, helping with daily living skills and community integration.

Requires MAP certification, high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Fluency in English and basic computer skills are needed. The role includes medication management under clinician guidance, transport, and documentation; compassion and trauma-informed care are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; mental health experience preferred.
• MAP certification is required; candidates w/o MAP must complete employer training and obtain certification within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration.
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
