Job summary

Skyline Elementary in Mead School District is seeking a Paraeducator 1:1 Student Support to provide individualized assistance to a designated student throughout the school day. Under certificated staff guidance, you will support access to instruction, communication, behavior, health, and safety, promoting independence.

The role requires following IEP and health plans, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with teachers and health personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current first aid/CPR certification.
• Paraeducators shall be highly qualified upon hire as defined by state law.
• Completed at least 2 years of college (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits) or an associates degree or higher.
• Completed and passed required paraeducator assessments (ParaPro, Master Teacher) or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship completed in a registered paraeducator program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to the assigned student across classrooms and common areas.
• Reinforce teacher-directed lessons and assist with group instruction.
• Follow IEP/health/safety plans and district procedures.
• Assist with transitions, social interaction, and daily living skills.
• Maintain student dignity and promote independence with appropriate support.
• Document data and communicate findings to staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, nurses, and related service providers.
• Attend required trainings (MANDT, CPR/First Aid, etc.).
• Promote inclusive student participation and safety throughout the day.
