Job summary

Prairie View Elementary, Mead School District, Mead, WA, is seeking a Paraeducator 1:1 Student Support to provide individualized assistance to a student with an IEP. The role supports access to instruction, communication, and safety while promoting independence throughout the school day.

The position runs 6.5 hours daily, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and current first aid/CPR certification; district background checks and COVID

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of student information.
• Experience or ability to work with students with disabilities in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to the assigned student across classrooms and common areas.
• Assist in instructional activities and adapt materials as directed by teachers.
• Follow IEP/health/safety plans and assist with communication or assistive technology.
• Support transitions and daily living skills to promote student independence.
