Job summary

Northshore School District is seeking a dedicated 1:1 paraeducator for the Maywood Hills Elementary site in Bothell, WA. The role focuses on supporting an individual student with engagement, routines, and learning in collaboration with the classroom team.

Responsibilities include assisting with behavior support, instruction, and daily living skills, while following IEP goals and safety protocols. Position is full-time for the school year with benefits and standard district commitments.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn about special education student needs and classroom supports.
• Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and staff.
• Strong grammar, spelling, and English usage; effective reading and writing.
• Willingness to operate classroom technology and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in learning, behavior, social development and daily living skills.
• Provide tutoring and organizational support; assist with lesson adaptation under teacher guidance.
• Lead small groups and assist with materials, data collection and progress reporting.
• Support student behavior management and safety, including de-escalation as trained.
• Assist students with medical needs as trained (toileting, transfers, feeding as applicable).
• Participate in team meetings and school activities; communicate with families as needed.
