Job summary

Parkway Elementary in Clarkston, Washington is seeking a Resource Room SpEd 1:1 Paraeducator for a one-year assignment. The position is 6 hours per day, 194 days per year, reporting to the Building Principal, with immediate starting date.

The role supports Special Education students in a 1:1 setting, assisting the classroom teacher, preparing materials, ensuring safety and confidentiality, and helping with daily activities and assessments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (upload copy)
• Meet ESEA para-professional qualifications (72 quarter credits or ETS test)
• Minimum computer/technology skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stress/anger/conflict situations
• Enjoys working with students
• Sound decision-making skills
• Responsible and punctual

Responsibilities

• Follow district, local, state and federal statutes relevant to a public school environment
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff and other individuals
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for students and staff
• Prepare classroom supplies/materials and supervise students
• Assist classroom teacher with instruction as assigned
• Provide assistance with all academic activities and supervise student in various settings
• Assist students with self-help activities and personal hygiene
• Monitor and provide positive discipline as necessary
• Participate in professional development and perform duties with courtesy and respect
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrator/supervisor
