Job summary

Heights Elementary in Clarkston, WA seeks two one-year-only Resource Room SpEd 1:1 Paraeducators to support students with individualized instruction. The role runs 6 hours per day, 194 days per year, with pay between $24.59 and $27.66 per hour based on experience, and reports to the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Meet WA State Para-professional Qualifications.
• Minimum computer/technology skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle stress/anger/conflict situations.
• Enjoys working with students.
• Sound decision-making skills.
• Responsible and punctual.
• Complete CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• FOLLOW DISTRICT, LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL STATUTES RELEVANT TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
• Maintain an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, and others.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for students and staff
• Set up for daily and periodic activities
• Prepare, collect, and organize daily materials; assist classroom teachers with instruction
• Provide assistance with all academic activities for the student and groups
• Assist with self-help activities and field trips, supervise word-lists and tests
• Monitor student assessment and document daily performance and progress
