Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support a student on a 1:1 basis under the direction of licensed staff. The role includes assisting with daily instruction, implementing IEP goals, collecting data, and helping with behavior plans and transitions.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant IEP experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills. The position requires compliance with district policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent and one of AA degree or 48 college credits or pass the paraeducator assessment.
• Ability to work 1:1 with a special needs student under supervision.
• Experience with IEP goals, data collection and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the care of medically fragile or behaviorally challenged student per IEP.
• Assist in daily instruction and support with IEP goals and objectives.
• Assist in planning daily/weekly lessons based on IEP goals.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain data to modify IEP and program effectiveness.
• Provide information to staff to meet IEP goals and objectives.
• Assist in developing and implementing behavior plans for the student.
• Assist with teaching daily living skills and classroom routines.
• Help with transitions between activities and tasks.
• Assist in transferring student using equipment as needed.
• Practice safety and security within routines.
