• Complete the Washington State Paraeducator Certificate Program.
• Complete Right Response Training within 3–5 months of hire.
• Official transcripts may be requested; provide details if asked.
• Renewal of Right Response certification annually prior to expiration.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with instructional activities for non-mainstreamed special education students.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups with learning activities.
• Monitor student safety and behavior following school policies.
• Assist with daily living skills, toileting, and personal hygiene needs.
• Support communication skills and integration with age-group peers.
• Maintain records and communicate student progress to staff and parents.
• Prepare and modify teaching materials under supervision.
• Assist with classroom cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
