Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Instructional Aide 1:1 to support students in Grades K-12 within a special education setting. The role focuses on individualized instruction, behavior support, and collaboration with educators to implement IEPs.

You will help students build essential skills, monitor progress, and engage in community and classroom activities while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to school policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Paraprofessional/educational aide credential preferred.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Experience with instruction/guidance for children, preferably in special education or behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive, high-achieving learning environment.
• Provide engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Instruct and monitor students during lessons, apply strategies to improve comprehension.
• Track progress and communicate with teachers about needs and successes.
• Manage student behavior in alignment with policies in collaboration with teachers.
• Support students in developing community, vocational, leisure, and social skills.
• Document behaviors and performance; provide actionable recommendations to staff.
• Prepare detailed behavioral reports and activity logs.
• Communicate with students, families, and staff about needs and achievements.
