Job summary

ChanceLight Education in Birmingham, AL seeks an Instructional Aide 1:1 to support students in Grades K-12 within our Special Education team. You will implement individualized instruction under IEPs, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers to foster growth and success.

Ideal candidates show patience, empathy and a positive attitude, with experience supporting children in education or behavioral health settings. Training and certifications in crisis management may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience supporting students with learning disabilities or behavioral needs preferred.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to assigned student(s) in K-12.
• Implement IEP goals and collaborate with teachers for instruction.
• Monitor progress and communicate student needs to staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete documentation of behaviors.
