Job summary

Greenspire School in Traverse City, MI, is hiring a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional 1:1 to support high school students with diverse learning needs. The role involves assisting teachers with instructional materials, implementing IEPs, and providing one-on-one and small group support.

You will collaborate with educators and therapists to design effective strategies, monitor progress, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience working with students with special needs is desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with preparation and implementation of instructional materials, resources, and activities.
• Assist in implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Provide instructional assistance under supervision of the classroom Teacher.
• Offer one-on-one and small group support in various subjects.
• Help students develop academic, social, and communication skills through targeted interventions.
• Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and communicate feedback to teachers and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to design effective strategies for student success.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
