Job summary

Crestwood Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional (1:1) to support a student with a disability in a school setting. The role involves assisting in classroom management, instruction, behavior support, and administrative tasks under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

The successful candidate will meet specific educational requirements or pass the Parapro assessment, possess excellent communication skills, and be flexible to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 semester hours) or an associate's degree or higher.
• Must meet one of the specified education requirements or pass the ETS Parapro Assessment.
• Fluent in written and oral English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe mobility and transportation for students with a physical condition when assigned.
• Work cooperatively with teachers and other staff members.
• Assist the teacher in creating a positive learning environment for the student.
• Assist in planning the student's educational program under the direction of the teacher.
• Provide instructional and/or language support to assigned students in one-on-one or small group settings.
